1966 - The Beach Boys recorded “God Only Knows,” which was included on their seminal album, Pet Sounds.
1975 - Elvis Presley started up what would be his final recording session at RCA’s Hollywood studios.
1976 - The Who’s drummer Keith Moon collapsed behind his kit at the beginning of a show in the Boston Garden.
1987 - U2’s classic album The Joshua Tree was released.
