Man Impersonating Paul Simon Attempts Bank Con

The New York Post reported that a man named Rafael Ramos entered a New York Citibank last week claiming to be singer/songwriter Paul Simon and attempted to extract $4,300 from his account.

However, the would-be thief apparently had no former knowledge of the musician, who at 5 feet, 3 is one of the more diminutive performers in his field. At 6'1", Ramos bears literally zero resemblance to the "Mrs. Robinson" singer.

Regardless, Ramos had a forged credit card and driver's license with Simon's name, and had somehow obtained the singer's social security number as well.

Despite the ploy, the bank teller refused Ramos' request, and police picked him up after he realized the jig was up.
